When it is needed
- Critical fans, where an unplanned stop takes the line with it
- Plants without an in-house vibration programme
- A fan with a history of repeat failures that nobody has traced to a cause
- Fans on hot, dusty or corrosive duty, where wear is steady and predictable if it is measured
What we do
- Set the measurement points and the schedule for each fan: vibration, bearing temperature, motor current, pressure across the fan
- Take the readings on the round, trend them, and flag the fan that is moving away from its baseline
- On a flagged fan, diagnose: spectrum analysis, inspection of impeller, seals, bearings, couplings and foundation
- Recommend the action and the timing, so the repair goes into a planned shutdown rather than causing one
What you get
- A trend record per fan, with alarm levels and the date each fan last crossed one
- Written diagnosis on any fan that needs attention, with the cause and the fix
- Fewer surprises, which is the only measure that matters for this service
The useful question is not whether a fan is vibrating but whether it is vibrating more than last month. Trend beats threshold.
