The process
A ball mill with a separator uses sweep air to carry the fines out of the mill and hot air to dry the feed. The mill fan and separator fan handle fine meal dust at moderate temperature and the dust collector fan clears the vent.
The gas
Hot gas that has dried the raw meal and now carries the fine product toward the separator and collector. Very heavy fine dust loading; the impeller is built for wear and balanced to tolerate build-up.
Fans in this process
| Duty | What it does here | Type usually selected |
|---|---|---|
| Raw Mill Fan | Draws hot kiln gas through the raw mill and separator, drying the raw meal on the way and carrying the fine product to the collector. | Backward curved and radial tipped |
| Bag Filter Fan | Pulls the process gas through the filter bags and discharges the cleaned gas to the stack. | Backward curved and radial tipped |
| Dust Collector Fan | The fan behind a bag filter, cyclone or multiclone on a dust extraction system. | Backward inclined and radial tipped |
| Air Slide Blower | Supplies low pressure aeration air to the fabric of an air slide, fluidising cement, raw meal or gypsum so it flows down the slide.. | Backward curved and radial tipped |
| Hot Air Fan | Circulates or supplies air at elevated temperature to a dryer, oven or kiln. | Backward curved and backward inclined |
