The process
Clean rooms hold temperature, humidity, pressure cascade and particle count through air handling units with pre, fine and HEPA filtration. The AHU fan is selected against the filter resistance at end of life, at low noise, with redundancy where the room is critical.
The gas
Filtered, conditioned supply air through pre, fine and HEPA filters. The fan is selected against the filter pressure drop as it loads, at low noise.
Fans in this process
| Duty | What it does here | Type usually selected |
|---|---|---|
| AHU | A packaged unit with fan, filters, cooling or heating coil and mixing box that conditions and delivers supply air. | Backward curved and forward curved |
| HVAC | Supply, return and exhaust fans for heating, ventilation and air conditioning of plant and office space. | Axial, backward inclined and forward curved |
| Ventilation Fan | Moves air through a plant or building for fresh air supply, heat removal and fume dilution where the system is ducted. | Backward inclined and forward curved |
| Fan Silencer | An absorptive silencer at the fan inlet, outlet or in the duct, cutting fan noise with minimum pressure loss.. | Silencer |
